Fire Station No. 34

Kettering, OH

City of Kettering

Fire Station No. 34 is a 18,660 SF state-of-the-art facility with four drive-through apparatus bays and accommodations for up to eight career and part-time firefighting and EMS personnel.

This station uses innovative technology such as four-fold garage doors on both the front and rear of the building which all but eliminate costly collisions with fire apparatus. A station alerting system being implemented in all of Kettering’s new stations provides automated control of specific building functions such as lighting control and door security from a remote 911 dispatch center. A mechanical and training mezzanine is designed to allow for rope, rescue, confined space and ladder training all year long. The exterior site configuration integrates a training trench apparatus for confined space rescue training.

This is the third of a four station replacement program that App Architecture is contracted to complete.
